Dengue.com

Created by Huumun for Takeda, Dengue.com is a pioneering global initiative that seeks to inform everyone from the general public and healthcare professionals to key decision-makers in businesses and institutions about dengue risk, prevalence, and how to prevent it. To build trust and credibility, we modelled the site on major global news platforms like the BBC and Reuters, combining Takeda’s data with insights from respected sources such as the WHO and CDC.

Our goal was to make a complex array of information accessible and engaging, using thoughtful design, clear content, and intuitive functionality. Beyond the website, we supported the initiative with a social media strategy that aligned with global awareness events like World Dengue Day and World Mosquito Day, successfully driving traffic and boosting engagement from a few hundred to thousands in the first year.

I played a leading role in this project—not only as Lead Designer, but also across the entire project lifecycle: from strategy and UX documentation to branding, design system creation, and client collaboration. Although the project has evolved since my time on it, I’m still proud to have been a key contributor to something with such a wide-reaching global impact.

My role: Lead designer, involved in the full project lifecycle: Strategy and ideation, concepts, branding, consumer needs analysis, consumer journeys, responsive design, design system and documentation, social initiatives and campaigns, client liaison and presentations, production team liaison and design team management.
