Hey
I’m Suzie Dickinson
We’re living in strange times. AI fluency is fast becoming a baseline requirement, while at the same time raising uncomfortable questions about the future of creative work. Our new digital co-pilot is certainly powerful… and still not entirely sure how many fingers a human has. So perhaps the singularity can wait. That’s reassuring, because good design still relies on judgement, taste and strategic insight — qualities shaped by real-world experience, not just prompts.
Which is where I come in: a Human in the (Design) Loop, evolving my practice to work intelligently alongside AI and help steer things in the right direction.
On paper, I’m a senior graphic/digital/UI/UX designer (there are so many labels these days). In reality, I’m a designer with nearly three decades of experience navigating change — from print to platforms, from brand systems to complex digital products.
If you’d like to see how that translates into meaningful, effective design, take a look around — or dive into more detail here.

I help design and marketing teams untangle complexity and turn it into thoughtful, usable design. With nearly 30 years of experience across digital, branding and print, I combine strategic thinking with hands-on design expertise.
All good design begins with understanding people. I can work with user needs, journeys and behaviours to help shape intuitive digital experiences, whilst bringing products to life with clear, engaging UI design. From wireframes to polished interfaces, I focus on balancing form with function—and always with real humans in mind.
From creating new identities and brands to evolving existing ones, I can design brand ecosystems that are flexible, distinctive and built to last across digital and print.
I create clear, on-brand social content—designing both static and short-form video assets. I can also help build simple content schedules and templates, making it easier for teams to plan ahead and post consistently.
My background covers a broad mix of media, from global responsive websites and social campaigns to Alexa voice experiences, healthcare sales tools, web apps and games—along with plenty of large-format, OOH and good old-fashioned print, including brochures, posters and album covers!

Over the course of my career, I’ve delivered work across a broad range of sectors, including healthcare, IT and telecoms, smart assistant technology, automotive, media and entertainment, education, consumer and retail, as well as small businesses and charities.I have extensive experience working across both B2B and B2C audiences, delivering campaigns and digital products spanning ATL, BTL and TTL channels.
Yes — AI is now an integral part of the modern design workflow. I use it regularly to enhance efficiency, accelerate exploration and support creative thinking across copywriting, image and video generation, interface design and more.Tools I work with include ChatGPT, Claude, Adobe Firefly, a range of generative AI image libraries, and built-in AI features within platforms such as Webflow, Figma and Photoshop. I actively keep pace with emerging tools and evolving capabilities — integrating them thoughtfully where they add genuine value. For me, AI is not a replacement for creative judgement, but a powerful extension of it.
I work across the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, alongside Figma, Sketch and Adobe XD for interface and product design. For web builds and content-managed environments, I regularly use Webflow and WordPress. I collaborate using tools such as Miro and Microsoft 365, and have experience working within project management and communication platforms including JIRA, Microsoft Teams and Slack. I also integrate AI-driven tools where they enhance efficiency and creative exploration. Ultimately, I’m tool-agnostic — choosing the right platform to suit the project, team and objectives.
At heart, I’m a problem solver. I like to understand the bigger picture — your objectives, your customers’ needs and the wider business context — before shaping the most effective solution, whether that’s UX strategy, UI design or conceptual thinking. Over the years, I’ve also developed something close to superhero-level mind-reading abilities when a brief is a little, well, brief. I’m comfortable operating at both macro and micro levels — defining overarching systems one moment and refining interface details the next. Context switching is part of every day life. Colleagues have described me as intuitively creative and thorough in delivery. With nearly three decades of experience behind me, I’m quick to grasp new challenges, tools and technologies — and confident in turning ambiguity into clarity.
I can work at pace — and AI has certainly helped streamline parts of the process. That said, I don’t believe speed should come at the expense of clarity or quality. In my experience, constantly rushing a project can create more problems than it solves. The best outcomes tend to come from thoughtful momentum: taking the time to understand the brief properly, ask the right questions and craft work that’s built to last.If you’re after rapid turnaround at any cost, I may not be the right fit. But if you value considered thinking, clear communication and high-quality delivery at a professional, sustainable pace, we’ll likely work very well together.
Yes. The concepts, design thinking and execution shown throughout my portfolio are my own. (The Tenable project involved adapting and evolving an existing visual direction.)Of course, design is often collaborative. At times that means rolling up my sleeves to support with artworking, refinements or helping fellow designers bring their projects to life. But for every featured piece in my portfolio, I acted as lead or senior designer, responsible for the creative direction and delivery.
